Hornet Football Team Gears Up for Causeway Classic
Saturday, November 19

Alumni are encouraged to cheer on Sac State as the Hornet Football Team takes on rival UC Davis in the 58th Annual Causeway Classic. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. at Hornet Stadium. Tailgate festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. in parking lot 8 outside the Alumni Center. General admission tickets are available for $15 with reserved seats starting at $20.

Deadline for DSA Nominations is Monday, November 14
Recognize a deserving Sac State alum by nominating them for the prestigious Distinguished Service Award. The award honors alumni who demonstrate standards of excellence in their personal and professional lives.

Holiday Mocktail Party

Mentor current students and attend our 2nd Annual Holiday Mocktail Party. The event is an opportunity for alumni to help students practice their networking skills. The holiday reception will include specialty mocktail drinks and appetizers.

Physical Therapy to Offer Doctorate Program
Sac State's Department of Physical Therapy has been authorized to offer a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, making it the University's second independent doctoral program. Application are being accepted until Monday, January 16, and the program begins in Fall 2012. To date, there have been more than 400 applicants for 32 slots.

Sac State Choirs to Play Veterans Day Peace Concert
Sac State’s three choirs, under the direction of Professor Donald Kendrick, will salute Veterans Day with “Bring Them Peace,” a choral concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, November 12, in Sacred Heart Church, 39th and J streets.

The Seagull Takes Flight at Sac State
Life, love, betrayal--Anton Chekhov tackles them all in The Seagull, the first of his four masterworks, at Sac State’s Playwrights’ Theatre. Performances will be at 8 p.m. on November 9, 10, 12, 18 and 19; 2 p.m. on November 13 and 20; and 6:30 p.m. on November 16 and 17.

Sac State's College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), which has helped more than a thousand students from migrant and seasonal farmworker backgrounds succeed in college, is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Sac State Receives Federal Grant
Sac State's Department of Ethnic Studies and the College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies have received a $1.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to bolster recruitment, retention and graduation rates among Asian American and Pacific Islander students. More info
Football Can't Pull Off Comeback at Portland State
Kyle Monson returned an interception for a touchdown and Jeff Fleming rushed for two scores in his return but it was not enough as the Hornets fell at Portland State, 29-20, Saturday afternoon at Jeld-Wen Field.

Cross Country Finishes Strong at Championships
The Sac State men's cross country finished fifth and the women were sixth at the Big Sky Conference Championships, Saturday at the Centennial Course.
