Sac State initiative combines science, history, and philosophy

InitativeTwo Sac State professors have launched an initiative that melds science, philosophy and history into a unified approach to help students better understand the material in all three fields. History Department Chair Aaron Cohen and Center for Philosophy and the Natural Sciences (CPNS) Director Michael Epperson are leading this cross-college initiative, which began as a research center in 2008.

Inaugural event showcases student research

Student Research SymposiumSac State's first Provost's Student Research Showcase, held Oct. 28, revealed the University's "best-kept secret," the innovation and research going on across our campus. The event featured 102 explanatory posters representing research by more than 200 students and 60 faculty-mentors.

Jeffrey JordanLt. Jeffrey Jordan ’12 (Business Administration) is literally poised for takeoff. After receiving his wings in mid-May upon successful completion of more than a year of rigorous pilot training at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., Jordan reported to Altus Air Force Base, Okla. He will spend three months there learning to pilot the plane of his choice.

CSU 3 Million

Online Yearbook—CSU 3 Million Alumni Celebration

The California State University will see its living alumni pass the 3 million mark with commencement 2015. To celebrate, CSU has launched the “Class of 3 Million” yearbook, soon to be the world’s largest. Through the online yearbook, CSU alumni can create a profile and connect with alumni from all 23 CSU campuses.

Additionally, alumni who sign up for the yearbook will be entered to win one of three $10,000 scholarships for a current or future student, sponsored by Herff Jones.
