President Nelsen delivers Fall Address

Sac State President Robert S. Nelsen, in his first address to the campus community, laid out his bold vision for the University. Among his goals are to improve graduation rates, retention rates, and the time it takes for students to graduate. He also wants to ensure that students get the courses they need when they need them, and he promises to work to create internships and job opportunities.

The move comes after a swell of community interest in supporting the student who helped thwart an alleged terror attack. Supporters may make a contribution online at

Tami Bogert and Scott Yuill
Profile: Tami Bogert ’93 (Criminal Justice) and Scott Yuill ’85 (Business Administration-Finance)
Civic service is a calling for Tami Bogert and Scott Yuill. Bogert is currently a Sacramento County Superior Court Judge and Yuill serves on the Rocklin City Council. Both can be found engaging with Sac State efforts throughout Placer County.

Keck Grant Impact of giving: Keck grant funds scientific research
Thanks to a grant from the W.M. Keck Foundation, the Department of Biological Sciences is launching an undergraduate research project to study the American River. The three-stage project is known as the Sustainable Interdisciplinary Research to Inspire Undergraduate Success.
