Students calling
When your phone rings this fall, there might be a fellow Hornet on the other end—a Sac State student from our annual fund program, with an opportunity for you to support the University Fund.
Every gift to Sacramento State is important and annual giving allows the University to combine gifts from several individuals to make the largest possible impact. Gifts to the University Fund give the campus the means to respond where the need is greatest. In the past, those needs have included student scholarships, support for student veterans and our Honors Program.
In addition to generating much-needed funding for the University, the student calling program gives students an opportunity to work on campus in a job that enhances the educational experience and builds communication skills. Callers will always identify themselves as Sacramento State students and explain the purpose of their call.
Student callers want to learn about you and what is happening in your life. They will update you on the latest activities and events at Sacramento State and tell you how support from alumni like you is helping the University provide life-changing opportunities for students. And they can tell you about the possibility for securing matching gifts from your employer.
The call is also your opportunity to find out what the Sacramento State experience is like for current students. Student callers can tell you about themselves, their studies, their professors and their extracurricular activities. They might even ask you for advice on courses to take or potential career paths.
So, answer that phone. It might be a future Sacramento State alumnus on the line.
