Association Gives Scholarships

As the semester got underway, the Alumni Association shared an afternoon recognizing 15 student scholarship recipients and their families. These students come from varied backgrounds, but all have academic and personal accomplishments worthy of recognition. The scholarship program, which was initially started by lifetime members of the Sacramento State Alumni Association, accepted more than 135 applications this year for the 15 available scholarships. Applicants range from incoming freshmen and continuing undergraduates to graduate level students. Click here to read more about these amazing Hornets.

Golden Grads Reunion

In 1959 Sac State students paid 25 cents per gallon to fill their tanks and drive to class. If you wanted to see a movie after an exhausting day of tests, that would be $1. Times have certainly changed for graduates of this era, many of whom will return to campus for their 50-year reunion on Friday, Oct. 9.

Chapters Bring Alumni Together

Membership in the Alumni Association provides the opportunity to participate in an alumni chapter. These volunteer groups are implemented and managed by a dedicated group of alumni volunteers. Most chapters are organized around a college major, although some are interest/activity based. See a complete list of Alumni Association chapters. Don’t see a chapter representing your interests? Contact Hannah Kook to learn how to start a new chapter at 916-278-3861 or hkook@csus.edu.
