New Alumni Director
Jennifer Barber has been appointed the new director of alumni relations. Barber brings with her more than 14 years of experience in alumni relations, including leading the 27,000-member Cal Aggie Alumni Association.

Homecoming Festival 2008
Go Green at Sac State’s Homecoming Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27. Bring your friends, family and Hornet spirit to this event leading up to the big game against Portland State. Kickoff is at 2:05. Create your best Sac State tailgate or purchase food from one of our vendors. There will be prizes for both the alumni and student tailgates that best capture this year’s “Go Green” Homecoming theme. The fun begins at 10 a.m. and includes live music, kids’ activities, a children’s parade and entertainment. There will be a free gift at Hornet Stadium for the first 500 attendees wearing Sac State green. For more information about Homecoming 2008, go to www.SacStateAlumni.com.
Government Career Fair
The Business Chapter of the Sacramento State Alumni Association is getting alumni to work with a career fair like no other. The Experienced Hire Government Career Fair—at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the Alumni Center—will be one part career fair, one part professional networking. The event was created exclusively for the working professional looking for a new position, career change or better opportunity. A variety of government agencies will be present to fill positions that require a minimum of three years professional experience. It is free to Alumni Association members and $10 for non-members with early registration. Light hors d’ oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.

University partners with City of Sacramento
Sacramento State and the City of Sacramento are joining forces to improve the quality of life in Sacramento and the surrounding region. On Aug. 28, during President Alexander Gonzalez’ annual fall address, President Gonzalez, Mayor Heather Fargo, City Councilman Steve Cohn and City Manager Ray Kerridge formalized a collaborative agreement between the city and University.
