On Saturday, Sept. 4, Sac State plays Stanford in the football season opener at Stanford Stadium. A spirited Hornet tailgate will precede the game, and Hornet fan buses will be traveling from Sacramento. Join the fun!

Sac State Serves, a community service program of the University, has coordinated a volunteer day for alumni and friends with Race for the Arts, a nonprofit organization that raises funds and increases awareness of school and community art.

Review Finds Local Economy Gradually Recovering

The economic forecast for the Sacramento region suggests the worst is over, but recovery will be slow due to a variety of issues including a double-digit unemployment rate and a state budget that will likely include cuts to payroll and programs, according to the July 2010 Sacramento Business Review.

Sacramento State Declares Impaction

Faced with severe budget reductions from the state and an increase in student applications, Sacramento State officials have declared campus enrollment impaction starting with the Fall 2011 semester. However, students from the University's local service area for admission will be eligible to attend Sac State as they always have.
