University Fund meets scholarship need
Dozens of Sac State students will receive scholarships this semester through the support of donors to the University Fund. Nearly $42,000 has been made available to the scholarship program, thanks to contributions by alumni and friends of the University during the annual phonathon campaign. (More)
More and more, students rely on scholarships in their efforts to pursue a college education, especially in the face of rising fees.
Through their gifts to the University Fund, your fellow alumni are making it possible for qualified students to get a much-needed financial boost. Most Sac State students work at least part-time and many have family obligations. A scholarship can make the difference that keeps them on track to a degree.
The University Fund—through a Fall semester phonathon and direct mail campaign—raises “unrestricted” funds for the University, funds that can be used to meet pressing campus needs, such as the scholarship program. The Fall 2009 campaign is gearing up and student callers will begin contacting alumni in September.
