Hornet racing team gains real-world experience

Hornet racing teamSac State’s Hornet racing team made a strong showing at the Formula SAE international competition in Lincoln, Neb. “Out of 80 teams in the competition, we placed seventh for the design event,” says mechanical engineering Professor Aki Kumagai, the team’s faculty advisor. Student's 1,000 bowls project helps local charities

Christopher ThompsonA Sac State student’s effort to raise money to help feed the hungry is already bearing fruit. Sac State art student Christopher Thompson spent a year-and-a-half making 1,000 ceramic bowls as part of his masters of studio art program, and to benefit three groups that provide food for local residents in need. Gonzalez Scholarship recipient speak from experience

Katie WilliamsThere were times in her life when Katie Williams couldn’t imagine attending college, which made the evening of March 22, 2013 all the more remarkable. Hospitalized the day before her 11th birthday after having thoughts of suicide, Williams spent a week undergoing treatment and had two more visits to the hospital over the next several months to deal with overwhelming depression and anxiety.
