In July, Marco Rodriguez ’91 (Business Administration) began his term as president of the Sacramento State Alumni Association Board of Directors. A committed leader in the financial advising industry, Rodriguez works as a senior advisor with Principal Financial Group. #HiddenCash has roots at Sac State

They say money doesn’t grow on trees, and for the most part that’s true. But, with the help of Jason Buzi ’95 (Business Administration) Sac State’s trees had more than their share as he launched a Hidden Cash treasure hunt on campus. Buzi, an alum and current real estate investor, has been sharing his wealth all over the country with the help of Twitter. Read article

Public policy alumna wins top research prize

Jodi LewisJodi Lewis, MPPA '14 won the $5,000 Gloria Rummels Memorial Award for “best quantitative paper” at California State University’s Social Science Research & Instructional Council student research conference. Lewis submitted a 20-page research summary and presented on her thesis, “Improving Bachelor’s Degree Completion Rates: An Examination of First Year Experience at Sacramento State." Read article


STORC is a showcase for water conservation

Sac State’s innovative Sustainable Technology Outdoor Research Center (STORC) has generated a great deal of student and community interest since its creation several months ago. Now it’s going international. A delegation of elected officials from Honduras and Belize came to campus in June and toured the center. Read article

Sac State and its auxiliary Capital Public Radio have joined The Sacramento Bee and KCRA 3 to invite Democratic candidate Gov. Jerry Brown and Republican candidate Neel Kashkari to debate this fall. Read article

Sac State’s Office of Water Programs (OWP) and the City of Sacramento have been awarded $3 million in Proposition 84 clean-water funding from the State Water Resources Control Board. Read article

Though it’s not often in the spotlight, Siddiqui’s craftsmanship can be found throughout Sacramento and all over the Sac State campus.
