With the start of the new fiscal year, the Alumni Association Board of Directors welcomes Margot Bach ’72 to the podium as president. She brings a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and passion for the university to the Association which will flow seamlessly into her new role and continue our forward momentum.

It's graduation time
The ending of the spring academic semester ushered in a new wave of graduates from Sacramento State. Nearly 4,000 graduates walked across the stage this May to claim their coveted degrees and join the Hornet family of alumni. Congratulations to the newest members of the alumni family.

Mel Ramos celebrates 50 years of art with the Crocker
Alumnus Mel Ramos '57, MA '58 (Art), an internationally acclaimed artist, has his art on display at the Sacramento Crocker Art Museum through October. This exhibition is his first American show in 35 years. The showing includes his works of abstract expressionism, comic book heroes from the 1960s, and commercially inspired nudes.

Scholarship support
Ralph Sugimoto ’63 (Accounting) has a long, rich history with Sacramento State. As one of the first residents of its cinder-block residence halls, he graduated with a business degree before the College of Business Administration was fully established and remembers when the basketball and football programs stood at the top of the Far West Conference.

Josh Rosa, MPPA '08
It’s the eve of the primaries, or the Super Bowl as Josh Rosa affectionately calls it. He’s anxiously awaiting news to find out if his “candidates” have won, but more importantly, if his good friends who are running have won. As he sits back in his chair, he smiles and laughs out loud with his buddies as they cheer on the victories of their candidates who have beat out their opponents. This is the Super Bowl, something that Rosa waits—no lives for all year.
