Chief Justice leads spring convocation

Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-SakauyeCalifornia Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye gave a dynamic presentation on mentorship and unity during the Spring Convocation. The event began with lunch and small-group discussions about mentorship with a focus on building campus unity. Read more



Sac State civil engineering teams reach nationals


Sac State civil engineering teamTwo teams of Sacramento State civil engineering students took the annual Mid-Pacific Regional Conference by storm April 18-20 at San Jose State. Sac State’s teams scored high in the concrete canoe races and the steel bridge loading. The wins mark the first time two Hornet civil engineering teams have advanced to the national competition. The Sac State women's tennis team will make its 12th straight NCAA Tournament appearance when it plays at USC on Saturday, May 11. The Hornets (13-13) earned an automatic bid into the tournament after winning the Big Sky Conference Tournament for the 12th consecutive season. Read more

A grand slam from Andrew Ayers capped a five-run third inning and helped the Hornets to a 7-6 win over Nevada at Peccole Park. The win was the third in a row for the Hornets (27-18) and their fifth in the last six games. Learn more

Generous giving boosts scholarships, programs

Sacramento State received more than $1.4 million in private financial support in the second and third quarters (Oct. 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013) of the 2012-13 fiscal year. Gifts went to support a variety of programs and scholarship funds, including those in the School of Nursing, Athletics, the College of Health and Human Services and the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
