Sac State 5K Fun Run—Thursday, May 1, 6 p.m. Join alumni and students on a 5K course through the campus.
Hornet Club Wine & Food Classic—Friday, May 2, 6 p.m. Enjoy offerings from alumni-owned wineries and restaurants while supporting student athletes.

Baritone alumnus plays Sac State

Eugene Villanueva
Renowned baritone Eugene Villanueva ’06 (Vocal Performance) will perform with the Sac State Symphony Orchestra on April 15. An avid recitalist, Villanueva made his Carnegie Hall debut in January 2008. Learn more

March for Babies Sac State is proud to join the March of Dimes as a working partner in the March for Babies fundraising campaign and walk. President Alexander Gonzalez is the chair of this year's local event. Join Team Herky or make your own team and join us on Saturday, April 26, on the west steps of the State Capitol.

Degrees Project eases path to graduation


Dreams to degrees In 2009, the CSU Chancellor’s Office mandated that Sacramento State increase its six-year graduation rate for freshmen and transfer students. The University met that challenge with several innovative programs designed to improve retention and graduation rates, particularly among underrepresented students. Read article



Students will serve others during break

Alternative breakCollege students traditionally head to the beach or mountains for spring break, but 45 Sacramento State students will participate in another springtime tradition known as Alternative Break. Each one has committed to volunteer for a day or more to support the efforts of five nonprofits that serve our community. Read article
