Meet alumni authors as we wrap up Alumni Month at the Hornet Bookstore. The evening will feature networking, light refreshments, and the opportunity to hear a sampling of recent works by Sac State alumni.

Sac State Night at Raley Field
Thursday, May 3

Show your Hornet pride and support the Sacramento River Cats as they take on the Colorado Spring Sky Sox. Cat Cash will be given to the first 100 people in the gate wearing Sac State gear.

Construction Management Team Scores Second at Nationals
A single point separated the top two finishers, and this year's competition was the closest on record for the four finalists. The Sac State seven who presented in Orlando are Cameron Harrison, Chris Fitzgerald, Dave Mitchell, Justin Larsen, Pam Ames, Steve Farshchi and Tyler Norris.

Private Support Benefits Campus Programs
Sacramento State raised nearly $2.5 million in gifts and pledges in the second and third quarters of the fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012). Gifts supported a number of areas including the One Book program, the Honors Program and the School of Nursing as well as students in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Business Administration and those living in the residence halls.

Joseph F. Sheley '69 & '71
Joseph F. Sheley ('69 and '71 Master's, Sociology) has served as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Sacramento State since 2006. He earned his doctorate in sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and was a faculty member for 21 years at Tulane University.
