Japanese Tea CeremonyParticipate in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony


Thanks to an anonymous donor, the charming Sokiku Nakatani Tea Room and Garden at Sac State’s University Library will host a series of free springtime teas through April 11. Learn more

Sac State expands Super Sunday Outreach

Super SundaySac State’s Super Sunday outreach to local churches has been so successful that it expanded to two Sundays this year. The project is part of the California State University system’s Super Sunday project, which schedules visits to churches in African American communities to provide information and advice on getting a college education to young people and their families. Theatre production explores border disappearances


Women of JuarezSac State’s production of Ruben Amavizca-Murua’s The Women of Juarez tells the story, from one family’s perspective, of the many women that have disappeared or been murdered in the Mexican border town of Ciudad Juarez. The show runs March 14-24. Read more



Renovated molecular biology lab is unveiled


CIMERA labSac State has unveiled its cutting-edge molecular biology lab known as CIMERA, or Center for Interdisciplinary Molecular Biology Education, Research and Advancement. The newly renovated basement laboratory was 10 years in the making. Read more



Professor launches citywide kids' book drive


Book driveProfessor Celeste Roseberry-McKibbin has operated a one-woman bookmobile out of her personal vehicle and home garage for the past four years, gathering up some 24,000 used books. For the first time, she’s asking for community book donations. Read more



Construction Management squads setting standards


Construction ManagementSac State students recently added to their many awards, dominating the Associated Schools of Construction competition in Sparks, Nev. All told, the Construction Management squads have captured 16 regional and 14 national awards in their last eight competitions. Read more

Scholarship inspires stage
