The Sacramento State Alumni Association Board of Directors is a group of alumni volunteers who lead the organization in its service to Sac State and its alumni. Alumni Association scholarshipsDo you know any current or incoming Sac State students? Please encourage them to apply for an Alumni Association scholarship. Each year we award 12-15 scholarships to incoming freshman, continuing undergraduates and graduate students. All applications are due by Friday, February 28, no exceptions. Learn more



Sacramento Business Review-Economic Forecast

Sacramento Business ReviewThe College of Business Administration at Sac State is partnering with the Metro Chamber for the 10th edition of the Sacramento Business Review–Economic Forecast. The event will include an overview of forecasts for business sectors throughout the region, followed by a question-and-answer session at 1 p.m. and keynote address at 1:10 p.m. by former Assistant Treasury Secretary Neel Kashkari. Capital Fellows Applications being accepted


Capital FellowsThe Capital Fellows program offers recent college graduates, graduate students and mid-career applicants the chance to prepare for a career in public service while working under a seasoned mentor in the California State Assembly, State Senate, Executive Branch or California Judiciary. Tobacco-Free campusPresident Alexander Gonzalez has directed the campus community to develop “a comprehensive tobacco policy beginning with the spring 2014 semester." The new policy would ban tobacco use on campus beginning with the fall 2015 semester. Read article

River City bookRiver City and Valley Life: An Environmental History of the Sacramento Region—a collection of essays that examine Sacramento’s extraordinary relationship with its natural surroundings—was edited by Christopher Castaneda and Lee Simpson, both professors of history at Sac State. Women’s basketball tames Lady Griz 91–81

Women's Basketball team
Sac State topped 90 points for the eighth time this season, but it was the team's second-half defensive effort, limiting Montana to just 29 points, that helped earn a 91-81 Big Sky victory in The Nest. Read article

Senior Kailey Hansen wasted little time becoming acclimated to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation as she was named the Gymnast of the Week following the team’s first week back in the conference. Hansen scored 9.800-plus in each of her three events. Read profile
