Homecoming is a tradition on the Sacramento State campus that encompasses a week-long celerbation of activities to promote Hornet pride through student involvement and alumni engagement. The Alumni Association is proud to host an annual festival before kick-off. Every year the festival features campus booths, live music, a Herky photo booth, a kid zone, and much more.

Tailgate Zone & Competition

Tailgating is a first come, first serve parking lot party at Sacramento State - and Homecoming will be no different. Hornet fans have made tailgating into a sport of its own, and we celebrate their creativity and good cooking with a tailgate competition. Prizes will be awarded for the best tailgate food. A creative space earns bonus points. Awards are presented to both the best student and best alumni/community tailgate during the football game.
