Committees
The Alumni Association provides opportunities for alumni to volunteer on one of its many committees. If you are interested in becoming involved in Association leadership, committee participation is an excellent start. Below is a list and description of current committees. Alumni Development / Events Committee
Key Priorities
- Be proactive in Alumni outreach
- Build a strong presence in the greater Sacramento community
- Promote the “ right” programs
Description
Responsible for oversight and some planning of all major events undertaken by the Association including Homecoming, Alumni Breakfast Club, Distinguished Service Awards and Pre-game Parties.
Membership and Chapter Development Committee

- Create a greater student and parent connection
- Work proactively to recruit and retain association members
- Build strong chapters and connections with campus
- Evaluate existing programs and create new programs that will aid in growing and maintaining the membership base
- Create/Implement aggressive marketing plan
Description
Responsible for growing and maintaining the membership base of the Association. Identifies and coordinates opportunities to increase Association outreach to potential members, including but not limited to coordinating membership drives and participating the Spring student Grad Fair.
Scholarship Committee
Key Priorities
- Create a greater student and parent connection
- Facilitate more giving
Description
The Scholarship Committee solicits applications and nominations and selects recipients for Annual Alumni Scholarships. Establishes criteria for selections. Plans and executes fund raising for scholarships. Organizes a program of soliciting and pursuing donors for named scholarships.
Fund Development Committee
Key Priorities
- Own (and name) the Alumni Center
- Develop other streams of revenue to ensure a financially sound organization.
- Facilitate more giving
Description
This committee works closely with other fund development entities of the University to provide an ongoing program of seeking and cultivating sources of support for the programs of the Association. These sources of support include, but are not limited to, sponsors for major events, potential donors for naming opportunities and development of new fund-raising event opportunities.
